seunghyun-castor:

All he could do is listen through the earpiece, his ears substituting for eyes for the time being as she traversed to the parallel staircase. Seunghyun monitored what was happening with his eyebrows meeting in concentration, his expression gradually darkening as he heard every bullet fired while his empty gaze focused on the staircase in which she would be entering. Time and suspension worked against his thoughts, frustrating him with no end. He hated this feeling of being blind and of no help but this was the downside of being the overwatch; you could only do as much as the eye can see. As soon as he saw her silhouette enter his viewfinder, his expression returned to its usual calmness. “’kay…I am by the stairs, but they sure are not in a good mood~” With a chuckle he replied, “To be honest, neither would I.I mean, this is hardly a good time to get hit with a powercut, don’t you think?”

Another quick glance at the tablet lead him to believe that Bom was almost there, only four flights away with only ten minutes left. “Three more flights of stairs and you’ll enter onto the 9th floor. Remember, room 072.” He scanned the floor once again. “Obstacles…” He hissed as white figures bursted into his viewfinder. Three, no four moved quickly from a few floors above from where Bom was present, but more carefully as if they were aware of a sniper. He was humoured by their futile efforts to avoid being in front of the windows; their frantic dashing and ducking brought a sardonic smile to his face. Do you think you can hide from me? He picked them off and reloaded quickly, careful not to stall in case more were to appear.

But as if a reminder that things were actually going too well, a siren began to drone in the background which could only mean that the whole building will be in complete chaos in a matter of seconds. He finally grasped how serious this was all getting; it was very close to becoming an impasse. Logically, to carry on would be a suicide mission since the chances of survival were looking very slim. But he was positive that she could do it, he wasn’t just going to quit now. “This doesn’t seem too good…’ He started, watching her as she reached the nineth floor. “I’m not worried so much about you obtaining the information but more of how to safely get you out of there.” He grew silent and tensed his jaw. It was a strange habit he had when he was put in difficult situations, an obvious tell tale sign when he was experiencing immense stress.

7 minutes remaining…

With only seven minutes on the clock, was it still possible? He knew once the lights were back on, they were fucked. He was starting to wonder whether they should call it quits. What’s this, Iosif? You’re usually on the ball~ His conscience toyed with him, sending him to the deeper depths of frustration. Give up now? Will you be able to show your face in HQ? But he was positive that the commotion they both caused today would make it impossible for another infiltration and by the time attempt two would be planned, who knows how much more drugs would be already imported under their noses. They could not afford to fail. “You can do it.” He said, trying to reassure her as well as himself. Inhaling deeply and exhaling as he reloaded, he witnessed as multiple white silhouettes began to exit their respective  floors in clusters. Hold on a sec’, they’re evacuating?

She chuckled at his answer, nodding in agreement. Oh yes, this sure wasn’t good timing for a power shutdown. Obviously everyone freaked out, which quite amused her, deep down under her professional calmness that she regained again. Fast she continued to climb the stairs, up to the desired floor. Finally they would get the information and out of this place. Time was surely ticking against them at the moment. “Room 072, got it”, she answered while almost reaching the ninth floor. This time she moved faster than before, knowing that she and her surrounding area should be in his view, she could be sure to not encounter with any obstacles too soon, since he probably killed them in less than a second. ‘Pretty helpful indeed~ ’ she thought while reaching the ninth floor.

“This doesn’t seem too good…’

Her muscles tensed again while she lifted her arm with the gun, pushing the door to the corridor with her foot open. Was that sirens that she could hear in the distance? ‘Damn..’ she thought. The corridor was empty as far as she could see. No footsteps, or shouting could be heard causing her to knit her brows doubtful. This weird feeling that something was wrong started to creep up on her, urging her to slow down while walking over the cheap carpeted floor. While Seunghyun seemed to already think about an escape route, Bom was more focused on her task at hand. She not once thought about how she would get out of that building since she entered, since her goal was to obtain that information. As long as she hasn’t achieved that goal, there was no use for her to think about an escape. ‘Room 040’ , she glanced at the shield, not realizing that she still walked too slow, her body too cautious.

You can do it”.

His voiced echoed in her ears. Yes, of course she could. And time was running out. ‘So what..there was no one here. Whatever. It only meant that it was easier for her to get access to that information.’ Immediately she started running down the corridor, passing all those different doors. 096, 070, 071

Room 072.

She stopped, turned her head to both sides, but still no one was there. ‘Good, here we go, right?!’ she thought to herself, typing the desired code fast into the scanner, however her access was denied. “What? “ she mumbled and took the key card she stole earlier out of her pocket so use it, when the door suddenly bursted open. Surprised she looked up, when two hands closed around her throat, pressing his thumps against her trachea, causing her to gasp. She stumbled backwards until her back crashed hard against the wall. She could feel her lungs starting to burn while her opponents face was a mask out of anger, death wish and stress. He sure was strong, putting all his effort into strangling her, but forgetting about her hands while doing so. Gasping for air, she held onto his arms with one hand, while she lifted her other one, pointing her gun against his head and shot.

She could see how his eyes widened in shock, his blood flowing running down his face with some drops warm against her skin. His grips loosened, while his legs lost their support and his lifeless body fell against the floor. Coughing she brushed over her throat while stepping over the dead body, her eyebrows meeting angry. “Fuck… ‘kay I am in. What’s going on out there?” she asked, closing the door behind her, while she went straight to the computer, plugging the usb stick in, searching for the desired files.

seunghyun-castor:

He listened to the skirmish through the earpiece, his fingers yearning once again to pull the trigger but since the two weren’t in view he was unable to shoot; the damage could be collateral if he did meaning that Bom could get injured also, if not worse. Since when are employees armed, Huh??! And..don’t you think it’s weird that you only saw eleven obstacles. Seunghyun sensed the agitation in her voice and deemed that she was finished with the obstacle, and pissed. He felt a tad bit of sympathy for her, as she was immediately in the lion’s den while he was in his haven, on a neighbouring rooftop. But he wouldn’t underestimate her, he knew she could handle herself. “Sorry doll face, I meant there are only eleven obstacles on the 9th floor.” He zoomed out and did a quick scan of the building, the only side he could see. “The amount of obstacles in the building as a whole, I can’t account for… There are just too many.”

More and more tiny white figures dotted the stairwell in which Bom resided. “Move quickly, I think they’re getting sweaty now…”  As he reloaded, he felt a chill wind pick up, the hairs on his neck rising in response. ‘Shit.’ he cursed under his breath, adjusting the dial on his scope. As a sharpshooter, he knew the wind would just fuck up everything, especially as his targets were at such a distance. Having to classify the wind and calculate wind velocity to finish his target in one hit would just take up time and it wasn’t favourable in the case that he had multiple obstacles moving at the same time. He furrowed his eyebrows in concentration as he kept his focus on the wind; how it felt on his skin, the direction it was blowing in, and an estimate on how much effect it would have on the bullet. Got it. A smirk flitted across his face as he inhaled, eliminating another set of obstacles and reloading. But like ants, they just kept appearing. It had been over 5 minutes since the building lost power, no doubt they were aware of an intruder.

The harsh night air helped in clearing his head, keeping him alert and focused. He racked his mind for possible alternatives, possible scenarios that wouldn’t endanger Bom. Unfortunately all of them were risky so he decided to go with the option that actually seemed viable. A change of pathways. “Hey Bom…” He started dubiously, a little unsure as what to say and what she would think. It’s not like she had a choice though, with the lack of time and numerous armed individuals on the way. “How do you feel about running?” He chuckled slightly, cocking the rifle. “You’re going to have to run along the floor to the parallel stairwell which is emptier, for now…”

“Listen, go through that door and get to the other stairwell…” He sighed, glancing at the tablet once again. “Pray you be quick, 13 minutes left.” He felt a sudden unease as he watched Bom leave his line of sight, apprehensive to what would happen if he wasn’t protecting her. She’ll be fine. He rationalized; obviously she wouldn’t be here if she wasn’t ready for unfortunate situations such as this. “…Be careful, don’t die.” He smiled at his last words, his focus returning to the door.

She continued to climb the stairs, still firmly holding onto the gun, her fingers clinging around the hard metal. “Sorry doll face, I meant there are only eleven obstacles on the 9th floor”. His voice rang in her ear again, causing her to make a face, ‘Of course. Eleven obstacles on the 9th floor.’ She shook her head in disbelieve. How could she even, only for a second, think that there were only eleven in the whole building? The thought itself was so ridiculous that she had to fight the urge to actually laugh. What was wrong with her today? It isn’t like that to jump to such hilarious conclusions. To overreact in every single situation. She should be calm, think, analyze. She was before. Why not now?? ‘You know exactly why.’ the silent, little voice, normally hidden deep in her unconsciousness made it’s way up to the surface. ‘Remember..today. ’ “No!” she silently hissed, shaking her head. ‘Concentrate Claire. Focus on the mission, or else you will be dead meat in a second!’ she reminded herself, trying to ban the voice. ‘In an hour..’ she knitted her brows, focusing on the stairs before her, on the sound of a door opening and closing a few floors above her. But it was Seunghyuns voice that broke her out of her thoughts. She nodded. Right, she was not alone on this mission. If she failed, both of them would and not just her. Another reason why she should put her shit together again and act like she normally did.

As told she moved quicker, the sounds of approaching footsteps, running down the metal stairs buzzing in her ears. ‘Here we go.’ She could feel the gun heavy in her hand, glancing down at it. ‘Time to use you again, huh.’, a smile lingered on her lips, getting closer to her victims with each step, when his voice suddenly forced her to almost stop. She listened to his words, while knitting her brows, her left hand pushing the earpiece deeper into her ear again.

‘Running??’

As she listened the footsteps grew louder and louder, even yelling at and a fast exchange of words could be heard already. Her whole body was ready to fit, to pull the trigger, to kill. Make sure that her merciless side won the upper hand again, but if he really told her to change paths it meant that there were far too many obstacles heading her way for her to handle. So instead of going this way, she had to change to another staircase, which meant that more time would be lost. It meant also that she had to run through an open corridor, leaving her unprotected from behind, with not much place to hide or dodge. However she trusted him that this was the only available option at the moment to fulfill the mission successfully and without too much complications.

Only thirteen minutes left.

Again she nodded. She had no time to further think about the plan, but needed to act immediately. She took the last two steps at once, smiling while her hand reached for the door knob. “I will try my best~” she answered slightly amused, before opening the door. His words probably meant that he would not be able to interfere now, if there should be any problems, which caused Bom to be on her own again. The smile faded, her muscles tense, the gun in her hand ready to shoot. ‘Just run~’ she told herself again before she stepped into the corridor. She glanced to her left, two men with their backs to her where walking fast into the other direction, to her right, someone was pointing at her with wide eyes, but before a word escaped the mouth, was Bom already right next to him, slamming his head against the wall, leaving him unconscious on the floor. She could hear a male voice shouting something, a bullet crashing into the wall next to her. Without looking back she continued to run, hearing footsteps behind her and another bullet crashing into something. ‘God,they are horrible at shooting’ she thought, turning around while running, aiming and killing her follower with one shot. “Room 239” she read while running past the door, which meant that the next one should lead to the staircase. She reached for the door opening it quick and slamming it shut behind her, feeling a slight vibration from it when something hit the metal hard from the other side. “’kay…I am by the stairs, but they sure are not in a good mood~” she speaks quickly, not hiding a slight tone of amusement before running up the stairs.

However she didn’t come far when some noises started to fill the stairway. “What the hell is happening?” she spoke while leaning over the railing slightly to look up. But nothing could be seen, causing Bom to knit her brows. ‘weird’ while she continued to climb the stairs fast, since she had no intention on loosing any more time.

Overwatch

seunghyun-castor:

Watching her as she exited her car and walked from it, he cocked the rifle. The sexy click was like music to his ears; the indicator of an oncoming mission. “Your life is in my hands. Don’t worry, I’ll get you in and out of there in one piece.” Which was entirely true of course; as long as she listened carefully to his instructions, the mission would be over quickly and painlessly. He chuckled, running a quick scan of the area before pulling away and tapping in a few codes into the tablet beside him. It would temporarily disable the power within the buildings within the 4 mile radius in which he was lying in. Lights out, guys. Looking back into the viewfinder, he arched his eyebrow slightly, impressed seeing that Bom had already handled an obstacle. So the doll has a little bite to her… Ufh.

He moved his face away from the scope again and glanced at the tablet on the ground next to him in a swift movement. It was a quick gesture as to see the information displayed and to make sure nothing would occur in that short space of time, nothing that might of put Bom in danger. “…Yeah. You’re good, go now through the side entrance. Remember power is out so climbing the emergency stairs is your only option. Access to doors should be fine since they are being powered by a emergency generator.” Using the supporting hand, he ran his fingers backwards along the rifle, flicking the switch that enabled thermal site. Excitement suddenly sparked as he was able to see the white silhouettes of people in the building; some looked as if their movements were panicked, stalking up and down corridors in confusion. Others more calm and controlled which could only mean armed security. He aimed his line of site to the upper floors of the building, focusing on the one in which Bom in a matter minutes would be entering. Two… four… eight… eleven. Only eleven for now.

“Nineth Floor, Room 072. Eleven obstacles, most likely armed. You only have twenty minutes until lights on.” He said slowly and slightly distracted. His concentration drawn to scoping the area for any more enemies in sight. It was as if everything slowed down and only his movements were in real time. In a steady line to the left, to the right, windows, roof, back to Bom and her surroundings. Nothing… yet. His fingers itched to pull the trigger, to be reunited with the blunt but smooth sound of the bullet being suppressed by the silencer, the familiar aggressive recoil of the weapon that vibrated through his very being, and finally the satisfaction of seeing the victim collapse immediately. ‘It must suck to be on the receiving end…’ he thought sardonically with a small grin. Seunghyun had always found his sick humour amusing, oblivious to how it might sound to others. It was something that would make the job more entertaining if you will.

However, his grin quickly faded, pursed lips taking it’s place instead; two obstacles were hastily travelling down the emergency stairwell towards Bom’s location. “Watch out.” His voice was no longer tinged with the usual playfulness but now fully serious. He was now in game mode, his finger automatically curling around the trigger. Moving targets… He aimed at the flight of stairs below them, deeply inhaling and holding the air in his chest, his body as still as steel. Come on… As soon as a head appeared in the window and was in his line of sight, he exhaled and simultaneously pulled the trigger, feeling the recoil violently push against his abdomen. He controlled it, inhaling once again and eradicating the second target. “Child’s play. You’re good to go.” He boasted, his face relaxing and a smirk returning to his face. He aimed back at Bom, making sure she was alright before doing another scan of the stairwell. “Clear.”

She carefully listened to his words, nodding slightly while walking to one of the side entrances. ‘Yeah yeah. Side entrance, doors should work, taking the stairs. Check, check and check.’ she repeated in her head, sliding the access key card over the card reader. ‘Access permitted’. Green letter blinked repeatedly, before the door was unlocked with a silent ‘click’. ‘Too easy~’. She almost laughed at how smooth everything was going, feeling how her body got excited nonetheless. The lights in the long corridor were buzzing, the little light on the video cameras blinking repeatedly, not video taping anything. ‘Emergency staircase. Shouldn’t be too difficult to find.’ At a quick pace she walked over the floor, seeing the sign over one of the doors already. ‘Nineth floor, Room 072.’ Again she nodded, saving the information, while her eyes started sparkling in amusement. ‘2o Minutes, huh. Should be manageable~.’ The corridor was empty, however she could hear how a door was slammed down the hall, which obviously meant that some people where actually on her floor. Seunghyun said that there were only eleven obstacles in their way, which made Bom knit her brows a little confused. Why where there only eleven armed people? How should only eleven defend this whole building. Could it be that they walked into a trap? No, surely not. There was no way that someone could have even guessed that they would sneak into Hydras building tonight. Eleven… . She couldn’t shake this weird feeling. Bom knew that there had to be more. Far more than this little number, but the question was, where were they hiding? She stretched her arm for the doorknob, when his words made her stop for a second. He no longer had this rather bored, amused sound in his voice, but was almost frightening serious, which made Bom lift one corner of her mouth amused, a thrill rushing through her body. He made it clear that enemies where near and Bom was more than ready for an not so unexpected encounter.

She opened the door energetic, glancing at her watch while doing so. Carefully she walked up the stairs, always near the wall, cautious of her surrounding area and every movement. She passed the first floor, when she again heard his voice over the earpiece. “Clear.” Again she nodded. ‘Leave some for me~’ she mouthed while continuing to climb up the stairs. Soon she saw a gun lying on the end of the stairs, followed by its dead owner. Like a big piece of meat he lay on the stairs, head up front, blood dripping down. “Nice one~”, he congratulated her partner, avoiding to step on the body.

The first time she saw a dead body she had to vomit immediately. It was a fresh one, the blood still shining red and warm while it soaked his clothes. Her instructor killed him before her eyes without any sign of emotion. ‘That’s all. You aim, shoot and kill. There’s no place for thoughts or emotions.’ she could still hear his words in her mind, while her body back then was trembling so hard that she could barely stand. Seeing a dead person now doesn’t affect her in the slightest way. It was normal. They weren’t even people for her anymore, they were obstacles, targets, things, but not people with friends and family.

Carefully she looked up, noone could be seen or heard on the staircase. Her eyes roamed over the stairs above her, when a sudden movement let her head turn forward in a second. The door leading out to another corridor flew open, only stopping inches away from her face, her hands defensibly placed on the metal. “Hul”. A middle aged men ran through it, his face drenched in sweat, with eyes wide open, obviously stressed on a very high level, but she could tell that he was only a typical office men. With a push Bom closed the door again, causing the man who, to her surprise, wanted to run upstairs , to stop in his movement, turning to her. She ignored the voice in her ear and looked at the man bored. He never was a slightest threat and she had no intention to actually hurt him severely, when he suddenly pulled a gun from behind his back and shot at her in a blink of the eye. In an instinct she ducked down immediately, hearing the bullet cut through the air near her ear. “Shit..” she mumbled while stretching her arm out, reaching for her targets. In an instant she grabbed his wrist and pulled him towards her. With her second arm she grabbed his shoulder and pushed her knee into his back when he was in front of her, making him scream in pain while the gun fell to the floor. She immediately took it, turned back to the man on the floor, his face a grimace of pain and shot, her blood boiling out of anger.

She was pissed. Of course, you always had to be alarmed and prepared, but she never liked it when something went not as planned. It made her feel insecure, vulnerable and lost, needless to say that she hated those feelings. It wasn’t a dangerous situation, but she could feel how her heart stopped for a tiny second when this man suddenly pointed his gun at her, although he wasn’t even supposed to carry one and it reminded her that she still couldn’t shut out her emotions completely. ‘What the hell where you thinking..you could have survived..bastard.’ She thought while, brushing some loose strains of her hair back behind her ear and taking two steps at once.

Since when are employees armed, Huh??!” she hissed. “And..don’t you think it’s weird that you only saw eleven obstacles.

There should me a lot more…”

Overwatch

seunghyun-castor:

00:12AM

Nights like these were what Seunghyun looked forward to the most; sneaking into glass buildings, lying on his stomach on a roof and readying his rifle for a mission. Assembling sniper rifles was second nature to him; like a puzzle, his clever hands would slot piece with piece, and in minutes would be the finished product, ready to use. Working with someone new however, was something he wasn’t used to. He didn’t hate it, it was just the fact that he would be responsible for someone else’s life as well as his own. This meant no playing around with the opposition which could end up jeopardising his partner’s life and the mission on a whole. He hummed to himself as he attached the Thermal scope to his all time favourite, Barett .50 cal, his eyes on the road to spot any signs of her.

There was a slight chill to the midnight air, the inky cloudless sky showcasing an array of stars. Adjacent to the roof Seunghyun was on was one of Hydra’s buildings. He pulled his black beanie over his ears, concealing his blue locks and mounted the sniper to the roof ledge. The atmosphere was not tense but relaxed.  It was quiet, almost peaceful which was how it usually was. There will always be the calm before the storm. From his peripheral, a flash of light from the road below attracted his attention. Looking through the scope, he laid his eye on a black Bentley a few yards away from his building. She’s here.

He attached the earpiece to his ear and clicked a button. A small smirk appeared on his face as he zoomed in closer to the car.

It’s nice to see you, doll face.

It was dark. The night sky was hidden behind big, black clouds. Ready to rain any minute. But there where still little spots between them where you could actually see through, looking straight at the sparkling little stars, bright against the dark background. However despite the late hour, the streets of Seoul where busy as ever. Mostly younger people, laughing, and stumbling over the streets make their way to a Club, Bar or even back home. Bom was headed Downtown. To the high skyscrapers, the buildings looking fancy, with their walls made out of class and security system higher than anywhere else. Her target was not far from here. She could see the tower clearly already. High steel, silver almost completely dark. She glanced at the little clock in the car: only 5 minutes left. Everything was prepared and she was exactly on time. She knew what she had to do. Knew how to get where she wanted to. However, it was not an easy mission. Certainly a dangerous one, with no mistake acceptable. Not even a single tiny one. She would go into the lions cave. Straight into a wasps’ nest.

3 more minutes.

Carelessly she put her hair up into a ponytale, placing a little earpiece into her ear, a payphone in her pocket. She wasn’t afraid of going in there. No, not one bit. There was no need for her to be afraid, but she was cautious. Examine everything and everyone.

2 Minutes.

She silently turned the motor off and was immediately after greeted by a deep, rough voice, echoing in her ear. “It’s nice to see you, doll face.” She could almost see his smirk in front of her eyes while saying those words. “Huh.” she answered, slowly opening the door and stepping out of the car. For a second she glanced upwards to one of the neighboring buildings while making her way to her target.”Nice to hear you, Eagles Eye. “she answered. “So, you got my back, huh?!”. On this mission, she wasn’t just working alone. It was a joined one, making it on the one hand a little easier, but on the other hand more complicated as well. You have to be a team. work together and somehow get along. You need to be sure that you can trust the other person completely, because it can easily be that your life, if you want it or not, depends on his actions.

What a coincidence that her partner was, as she called him, the great Seunghyun, the dangerous eagle in the night sky, prepared to attack at every second. She didn’t mind working with him. No, she actually was looking forward to it. It’s interesting for her to see how others handle situations, how they work and she actually trusted him as well. Sure, he is not her friend. She wouldn’t tell him anything too personal, but she trusted in his abilities and knew that she could count on him. At least that’s what she told herself all over again, since she heard that they had a mission together.

She continued walking when a different voice stopped her. “Hey…” the Security guard by the Gate called her, making her turn slowly, with an expressionless face. “Yes?” she answered curious, not ‘knowing’ what his problem was. “You..” he started, stopping abruptly, when his computer screens suddenly started to get dizzy, some of them even turning off, while the lights started buzzing. “Seems like you have some problems…” she stated casually, grabbed his collar and slammed his head against the cold desk. With a moan his unconscious body slid to the floor, perfect for her to grab the access key to the building which opened a lot of doors, if necessary. “Thank you…” she whispered as she slid the card in her pocket making her way to the gate and climbing over it without any problems. “Is everything clear?”

Carefully she led her eyes roam over her surrounding area.
